本课是这个单元的第一课时，纵观整个单元乃至整个小学英语教学阶段，本课的教学都起到了承前启后的作用。首先，整个单元的后续学习都是围绕第一课时的内容展开的`，是本课话题的一个拓展和深入。再次，从整个小学英语来看，三四两个年级的教学中，有家人以及职业的学习。到了本课时，可以将以前的内容进行复现和运用，是以承前。到了六年级，将更深一步的学习家人的职业的表述，将用到第三人称的表述，本课时的学习，恰恰为后续的学习搭好了桥梁，是以启后。
